Sharjah 24: Al Muntada Al Islami, affiliated with the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, organised its third dialogue forum on Islamic culture, titled “Emirati Women’s Contributions to Islamic Culture and Education”, in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day.

The forum featured Dr Kalthoum Omar Obaid Al Majid Al Muhairi, Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies at Zayed University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences in Dubai.

The programme formed part of Al Muntada Al Islami’s efforts to address intellectual and cultural issues relevant to the community, provide platforms for dialogue and knowledge exchange, and highlight Emirati experiences across various fields, enhancing awareness of national achievements and the role of Emirati women in cultural and educational development.

The forum explored the UAE’s experience in empowering women intellectually and educationally, highlighting their contributions to Islamic culture and education, their role in disseminating knowledge and promoting cultural awareness, and the impact of these efforts on building a national identity rooted in Islamic values.

The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department said organising the third Islamic culture dialogue forum in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day reflects its commitment, alongside Al Muntada Al Islami, to marking national occasions, highlighting inspiring Emirati experiences and showcasing Emirati women’s active contributions to education, culture and community service.

The department noted that the forum’s theme recognises Emirati women’s contributions to these fields, highlighting their role in transmitting knowledge, reinforcing values and strengthening national identity. It stressed that investing in knowledge and culture is a key pillar of building individuals and society.

It added that Al Muntada Al Islami continues, through its dialogue, academic and cultural programmes, to address topics relevant to the community and its intellectual concerns, fostering a culture of dialogue and knowledge exchange and providing academics, researchers, specialists and community members with opportunities to participate in discussions that contribute to knowledge creation and greater awareness.
