Sharjah24: Lieutenant Colonel Dr Marwan Obaid Al Naqbi, Head of the Technical Inspection Section at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department of Sharjah Police, has announced the launch of the “Safe School Transport” initiative to ensure school buses are ready and comply with safety requirements ahead of the new academic year.

The initiative was launched on Tuesday by Sharjah Police, in cooperation with the Sharjah Private Education Authority and Tasjeel ENOC, to inspect school buses and ensure their readiness to transport students safely.

Al Naqbi said the initiative focuses on verifying that all school buses comply with the required safety standards before students return to school.

He said the inspections covered the condition and suitability of bus tyres, as well as the operation of the school bus “stop” sign.

The inspection teams also reviewed approved safety procedures, first-aid kits, seat belts, and motion sensors and cameras installed on school buses.

Al Naqbi said the initiative aims to ensure that buses are fully prepared to receive students at the start of the new academic year, and wished students a safe and successful school year.
