Sharjah 24: Mohammed Musbeh Al Tunaiji, General Coordinator of the Al Dhaid Date Festival, announced the launch of the 10th edition of the festival, which is witnessing broad participation from various segments of society, including children and women. The festival aims to promote agricultural heritage and strengthen the connection of new generations with the blessed date palm.

Al Tunaiji stated that the 10th edition features the participation of children from the younger generation alongside their parents and grandparents in date competitions for premium varieties across both boys’ and girls’ categories. He noted that this participation strengthens their connection to agricultural heritage and encourages them to continue their interest in date palm cultivation.

He added, in statements to Sharjah 24, that the festival places great importance on women’s participation by providing all necessary facilities to enable them to take part alongside men in date palm care and competitions across various categories. He also highlighted the allocation of special categories for elite competitions at both general and specialised levels.

The festival’s General Coordinator confirmed that the Al Dhaid Date Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. He expressed his appreciation to all entities, sponsors, and participants who have contributed to the festival’s success over the past years, while wishing all competitors in this year’s edition the best of luck.
