Sharjah 24: The UAE Football Association's (UAE FA) general assembly met for the third time this year under the slogan "Nation unites us; football brings us together," with representatives of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation in attendance.

Praise for government support
The association thanked the UAE leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for its continued backing of sport in general and football in particular. Members pointed to that support as the reason the game now has the right environment to grow and credited it with funding the initiatives driving Emirati football forward at every level.

Sheikh Hamdan chairs the session
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Football Association and Chairman of the General Assembly, presided over the meeting. Also present were Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, First Vice President of the Association and President of the UAE Pro League, and Obaid Salem Al Shamsi, Second Vice President, along with board members Abdulmohsen Fahd Al Dosari, Hisham Mohammed Al Zarouni, Ibrahim Hassan Al Nemr, Hamad Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Omar Al Haj Al Muhairi, Yahya Khalaf Al Matrooshi, Fahad Ismail Al Hosani, Ahmed Ali Al Mahboubi, and Amal Hassan Bu Shallakh. Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Association, also attended, along with General Assembly members and representatives of FIFA and the AFC.

Agenda covers account and regulations
Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi opened proceedings on behalf of Sheikh Hamdan before Secretary General Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri ran through the agenda: the association's activity report for the 2025-2026 season, its closing accounts and the auditors' report, all of which were approved.
There was also business of a more structural kind. Members signed off on amendments to the association's statute and the regulations that govern how it's applied and confirmed appointments to the judicial committees, the dispute resolution body, and the appeals committee.
