Sharjah Chamber celebrates historic ties with Portugal

Sharjah 24: Heba Al Marzouqi, Head of the Business Councils and Joint Committees Department at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the Chamber marked Portugal’s National Day on Monday as a reflection of the long-standing historical ties and strong friendship between Sharjah and Portugal.

Support for Portuguese Business Council

Al Marzouqi said the celebration reaffirmed the Chamber’s support for the Portuguese Business Council, which operates under its umbrella, noting that the council plays an important role in strengthening economic cooperation between the two sides.

Business Councils as economic bridges

Speaking to Sharjah 24, Al Marzouqi explained that business councils serve as a vital link between Sharjah’s business community and international markets by fostering strategic partnerships and creating new opportunities for cooperation and investment.

She added that the Chamber remains committed to empowering these councils and supporting their activities to generate sustainable economic value and advance shared interests.

Appreciation for partners and participants

Al Marzouqi thanked the Portuguese ambassador for attending the event, along with the president and members of the Portuguese Business Council, praising their cooperation and support for the Chamber’s initiatives and highlighting their role in sustaining the partnership between the two sides.
