Sharjah24 - WAM: A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Italy’s Calabria region on Tuesday, with tremors felt across the area, including Naples. The quake's epicentre was located in the Tyrrhenian Sea near the city of Cosenza, approximately 240 kilometres southeast of Naples.

According to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 250 kilometres. The tremor was felt throughout Calabria and extended northward to the Vesuvius area near Naples, as well as eastward into the Basilicata region.

No immediate reports of casualties or material damage have been received, but verification and assessment operations are still under way.
