Sharjah Municipality offers 50% off late lease attestation

Sharjah 24: Hessa Yousef, Head of the Lease Contract Review Section at Sharjah City Municipality, encouraged the public to benefit from the municipality’s 50% discount and waiver of fines on late lease contract attestation, available until December 31st.

Attestation services and platforms

Yousef explained that attestation services are offered at 12 service centres across Sharjah, as well as through the Aqari digital platform accessible via the Sharjah Digital app and website. The initiative aims to resolve unattested contracts, protect the rights of landlords and tenants, and regulate rental relationships in the emirate.

Eligibility and awareness efforts

In statements to Sharjah24, Yousef highlighted that the 50% discount applies to lease contracts that expired before September 19, 2024, and is valid until December 31st. She emphasised the municipality’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness about the importance of attesting lease contracts and to encourage residents to complete the process.

Applicability across contract types

The discount is applicable to all types of lease contracts, including residential, commercial, and investment agreements.
