Haitham bin Saqr crowns day 9 champions at Kalba Beach Games

Sharjah 24: During a ceremony attended by members of the sports council and a host of athletes, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba, crowned the champions of the ninth day of competitions at the fifth Kalba Beach Games.

The event was attended by His Excellency Engineer Adel Saleh Al Hammadi, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council; His Excellency Abdulmalik Jani, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee; His Excellency Hamid Al Shamsi, Vice President of the UAE Archery Federation; His Excellency Mohammed Al Marri, Secretary General of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation; Dr Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of the Games and Director of the General Supervision Office; Bader Hareb, General Supervisor of Beach Soccer at the UAE Football Association; Shihab Al Awadhi, Head of the Technical Committee; Ahmed Al Hassani, Head of the Marine Sports Committee; and Abdulrahman Al Darmaki, Head of the Public Relations Committee.

Calisthenics freestyle

In the Calisthenics Freestyle category, Gustavo Momani secured first place, followed by Nemanja Thomasville in second, and Camille John in third.

Wooden speedboats ("Shawaheef")

In the kilometer race, boat number 33, owned by Arif Al Zafeen and Yousef Al Sabouri, took first place. Second place went to boat number 20, owned by Saeed Al Muhairi and Faleh Al Mansouri, while third place went to boat number 20, owned by Khalifa Bin Dheeban and Hameed Bin Dheeban. In the main race category, boat number 33, owned by Arif Al Zafeen and Yousef Al Sabouri, again took first place. Second place went to boat number 20, owned by Jassim Saad and Zayed Bin Zayed, and third place to boat number 20, owned by Hassan Ali Al Shamsi and Mohammed Ali Al Shamsi.

Archery

A total of 45 archers participated in the competition, with 21 male and female archers crowned champions in the junior and under-15 categories for compound, Olympic, and recurve bows.

Arm wrestling

Thirty-three athletes competing in various weight classes were crowned champions.

Karate

Winners in the different weight classes were crowned during matches held before a large audience.

Football

The Tigers team secured third place and won the gold medals by defeating Emirates "B" 8-3.

Ongoing competitions

Qualifying rounds for boxing, volleyball, and basketball also continued, keeping the excitement of the Kalba Beach Games alive.
