The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Professor Dr Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami , Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Dr Qian Jun, Dean of FISF; and Dr Asmaa Nasiri, Director of CCEPD, along with several faculty members. The event marked the successful completion of the UAE-focused module of this international leadership programme.
Over two intensive days, participants examined the UAE’s economic transformation, its sustainable development model, and its international reputation for government innovation and diversification.
Titled “Entrepreneurship Journey: Exploring Opportunities in the UAE,” the programme featured lectures and workshops delivered by professors from both universities, covering four main themes: ‘A historical and cultural introduction to the Middle East and the UAE’s political evolution,’ ‘Business planning and investment strategies, including high-growth sectors and investor-friendly policies,’ ‘An overview of the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and digital transformation,’ and ‘Modern leadership practices, highlighting national advancements in AI, blockchain, and smart governance.’
Participants engaged in practical discussion sessions to exchange insights on entrepreneurial opportunities, investment prospects, and potential areas of cooperation between China and the UAE, including clean energy, fintech, and innovation ecosystems.
The programme concluded with a certificate ceremony and a campus tour, including visits to the Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy and the Medical Colleges Library, providing participants with further exposure to the University’s scientific and research facilities.
Dr Asmaa Nasiri expressed great satisfaction with the programme’s success, noting that it reflects the strength of the strategic partnership between UOS and Fudan University. She emphasised that the programme effectively combines academic knowledge with real-world leadership skills, preparing executives to lead institutional transformation and sustainable development.
For his part, Professor Qian Jun highlighted the shared values between China and the UAE in economic growth and openness. “We chose the University of Sharjah as the first stop for our Middle East module to give participants a comprehensive understanding of the region’s history and economy. We look forward to more opportunities for collaboration with the university in future.”
