Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) organized the “Future Economy’ forum at the Sharjah Classic Car Museum in collaboration with Sharjah Municipality, the SME Ruwad, and several private entities.

The primary objective of the forum was to examine the future of the vehicle maintenance and repair sector against the backdrop of rapid technological advancements. The event emphasized the latest innovations in artificial intelligence that enhance service efficiency and improve work quality within this crucial sector. This initiative aligns with SEDD's broader efforts to stimulate entrepreneurship within the emirate, support and empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and create new investment opportunities for the upcoming generation by introducing them to key sectors targeted for growth and development.

The forum attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from government entities and the private sector, young entrepreneurs, and students from universities and technical institutes. Participants engaged in sessions and presentations that explored the integration of smart technologies into economic and professional activities, as well as the role of artificial intelligence in developing vehicle maintenance workshops and fostering new opportunities within the entrepreneurship sector.

Presentations were delivered by various participating entities, including Sharjah Municipality and Ruwad, highlighting the success story of a young Emirati entrepreneur in the field of smart car workshops. The event also featured interactive platforms representing the SEDD, the Sharjah Classic Car Museum, and the Emirates Development Bank, alongside showcases of youth-led entrepreneurial projects in technology and digital maintenance.

Ahmed bin Saed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Commercial Affairs at SEDD, articulated that the forum functioned as an interactive platform for experts, investors, and support entities to discuss opportunities for smart transformation in the vehicle maintenance sector. It also provided a venue to review the prominent services and solutions offered by governmental and private organizations to support emerging projects.

Al Suwaidi noted that the organization of this forum is in alignment with the department's ambition to promote the transition to a smart economy and empower youth to adopt future technologies. This initiative coincides with the visionary leadership's goal of constructing a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy, creating emerging business opportunities by connecting youth with smart vehicle maintenance services. Furthermore, it aims to develop a system for smart car workshops by involving the private sector in providing solutions, enhancing the practical skills of technology students through workshops, and showcasing inspiring success stories in the sector.

He further elaborated that the forum aims to link young individuals and investors with available opportunities in the realm of smart maintenance, highlighting exemplary Emirati success stories that demonstrate the capacity of national talent to innovate and lead in technology sectors. Such initiatives pave the way for a new generation of entrepreneurs to utilize modern technologies in the enhancement of their projects, thereby reinforcing Sharjah's status as a conducive environment for future ideas.

The forum concluded with a ceremony honoring participating entities and supporting partners in recognition of their contributions to the event's success and the fulfillment of its objectives.
