SAM celebrates talent through "Happiness Kiosk"

Sharjah24: Sharjah Asset Management (SAM) , the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, hosted the “Happiness Kiosk” at its headquarters for four consecutive days. The kiosk was operated by students from the Emirates Down Syndrome Academy for Hospitality, who showcased their skills in coffee preparation and the creation of various products and desserts.

The initiative highlighted the students’ creativity, positive spirit and talent, bringing joy to employees and demonstrating the active role of individuals with Down syndrome in society.

Commitment to Community Inclusion

Saeed Sherar, Chief Operating Officer at Sharjah Asset Management, stated: “Hosting the Emirates Down Syndrome Academy for Hospitality aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community and strengthens our social role in Sharjah Asset Management. Through this initiative, we support the empowerment of People of Determination, encourage their active participation in professional and social life, and help integrate them into the workplace while highlighting their abilities and talents.”

Appreciation from the Emirates Down Syndrome Association

Dr Manal Jarour, Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, expressed her gratitude, thanking Sharjah Asset Management for its generous initiative in hosting the kiosk and for its valuable support.

She added that the initiative embodies the highest values of social responsibility and reflects the company’s deep humanitarian commitment to empowering People of Determination and providing them with opportunities to express their abilities in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Honouring Ceremony for the Students

A recognition ceremony was held for the participating students in the presence of: Salem Al Midfa, CEO of Corporate Communication and Customer Experience Sector; Saeed Sherar, Chief Operating Officer;Dr Manal Jarour, Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Association; Nawal Al Nasser, Vice Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Association.

The ceremony concluded with honouring the students for their efforts and creativity in running the “Happiness Kiosk,” presenting them with certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts. The event reaffirmed Sharjah Asset Management’s ongoing commitment to supporting community initiatives and expanding the Academy’s programmes to empower People of Determination and highlight their talents within the UAE community.
