The committee concentrates on studying topics related to strengthening family cohesion and enabling the family to fulfil its role in caring for and raising generations, guided by the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Supporting the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026

The committee expressed its gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for designating 2026 as the Year of the Family. This initiative aims to promote the objectives of the National Agenda for the Growth of the Emirati Family and to raise awareness within UAE society, including citizens and residents, about the importance of maintaining family cohesion and strong relationships that unite family members, as these are the main pillars of a strong and prosperous society.

The committee also emphasised that this announcement reflects the vital role of the family in the thoughts of wise leadership and its function in fostering authentic values of cooperation, communication, and harmony that define UAE society. It also highlights the importance of transmitting these values to future generations to safeguard and perpetuate them. Furthermore, the committee will strive to align with this national orientation through its operational framework within the strategy of the Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Acknowledging Sharjah’s leadership in family initiatives

The Committee also praised the significant efforts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, in supporting families and fostering cohesion through initiatives and projects launched by Her Highness via the Sharjah Family Affairs Council. These efforts have contributed to empowering Emirati families and enhancing their social and psychological stability, in line with the national vision to build a cohesive society that prioritises human development.

New initiatives and strategic collaboration
