The establishment is excited to introduce its Play Therapy room, a special space designed to help children share their feelings and thoughts in a fun and safe way. This approach helps kids improve their communication skills, learn to work with others, manage their emotions, and develop healthy ways to cope with challenges. Overall, it supports their emotional and social growth.
Professor Moza Al Shehhi, Director Family Guidance Department at Sharjah Family Development, explained that trained psychologists and social workers run the Play Therapy room. They create personalized plans to support each child's needs. Before starting sessions, each child receives a detailed assessment to understand their unique situation. The program is mainly for kids aged 4 to 12, who benefit the most from this kind of therapy, though some aspects can be adapted for teenagers up to 16.
Professor Al Shehhi also highlighted that having a Play Therapy corner at the exhibition helps raise awareness about the importance of children's mental health. This area is interactive and educational, giving families a chance to learn about the services the organization offers.
Participating in the exhibition is part of the Sharjah Family Development's ongoing commitment to support family values, promote social connections, and strengthen its role in family development in Sharjah. Their goal is to enhance the quality of life for families, centered around their vision of “a united family and a harmonious society.”
