She highlighted that during a session held on Monday, the council discussed the sector's future vision, strategies to reduce traffic congestion, and the adoption of modern technologies to enhance traffic safety. The members reached positive outcomes and provided valuable recommendations to deliver safe, distinguished, and sustainable road services.
Her Excellency Eng. Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi added that the Council is keen on monitoring performance efficiency and fostering cooperation with government agencies. She noted that, during the second session of the third regular session of the eleventh legislative term, chaired by His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Council, the discussion focused on aligning the roads and transport sector with urban developments across the UAE and specifically in Sharjah. This aligns with the wise leadership’s vision of achieving sustainable urban growth and enhancing the integrated quality of life in the emirate.

Reducing traffic congestion
In exclusive statements to Sharjah 24, Al Shamsi explained that the discussions aimed to reduce traffic congestion, given that Sharjah lies along the main transit route connecting all UAE emirates. She also emphasized the importance of integrating modern technologies to ensure traffic safety during peak periods.
Modern projects and technologies
The Sharjah Consultative Council member praised the modern projects and technological initiatives of the Roads and Transport Authority, which were reviewed during the session to serve all road users, both residents and transit passengers.
Al Shamsi added that the Advisory Council members’ input focused on ensuring satisfaction for both residents and transit passengers traveling through Sharjah to other parts of the UAE.
