The visit was part of ongoing efforts to exchange expertise and share best practices in applying AI within higher education. Both institutions explored how such innovations can support digital transformation across academic organizations, aligning with the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, “We the UAE 2031” national vision, and Dubai’s Digital Strategy, which seeks to build a globally leading knowledge-based society.
The visiting delegation was headed by Brigadier Dr Jamal Ahmed Al Shehhi, accompanied by Colonel Dr Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, Director of General Services, Major Dr Saif Ahmed Khalaf Al Zaabi, Head of Education and Graduate Studies, First Lieutenant Ali Hareb Al Mandhari, Head of Quality Branch, and Corporal Sumayya Imam Al Balushi from the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Department.
Representing HBMSU were Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of the University; Professor Ahmed Ankit, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Meitha Al Teneiji, Vice Chancellor for AI and Technology; and Ali Al Lanjawi, Director of Business Development.
Meitha Al Teneiji delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the initiative’s objectives and mechanisms. She highlighted how AI tools are empowering faculty members to enhance the learning experience, improve academic performance, and foster a culture of institutional innovation. The presentation also discussed implementation frameworks, practical use cases, and future expansion plans both within and beyond the university.
Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, said: “The initiative ‘An AI Agent for Every Faculty Member’ embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University, to transform artificial intelligence into an enabling force that supports human capabilities rather than replaces them. Through this initiative, we aim to redefine the role of educators in the AI era and turn the university into a self-learning, adaptive environment that prepares a new generation of thinkers and innovators capable of leading intellectual and economic transformation both locally and globally.”
