Sharjah24: Sharjah Charity International has announced that its total assistance to citizens within the UAE reached AED 7.8 million over the past nine months, benefiting 644 citizens across various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah. The initiative reflects the association’s continued commitment to its social and humanitarian role in supporting Emirati families and alleviating living burdens for those in need.

Guided by the vision of Sharjah’s Ruler

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International (SCI), affirmed that the SCI continues to implement the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness’ philosophy places people at the heart of development, emphasizing empowerment and self-reliance to achieve family and social stability. Bin Khadim explained that this approach integrates humanitarian work with social development, both aimed at ensuring human well-being and happiness.

Diverse aid programmes and transparent criteria

SCI delivers its humanitarian mission through a range of charitable programs, including regular monthly assistance, emergency aid, and other initiatives that enhance citizens’ quality of life.

Of the total beneficiaries, 71 cases received fixed monthly support — primarily low-income families and those facing exceptional circumstances — while 573 citizens benefited from emergency assistance to overcome various hardships such as unpaid rent, utility bills, essential home appliances, and urgent medical cases.

Bin Khadim noted that a dedicated committee carefully reviews all aid applications, ensuring transparency and fairness in delivering support to the most deserving cases. The committee includes specialists in social and charitable work, reflecting the association’s professional and structured approach.

A comprehensive and sustainable support system

He emphasised that the association adopts a holistic charitable system, extending beyond financial aid to include social counseling and ongoing follow-up to help families achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Built on trust and institutional integrity

Bin Khadim expressed gratitude to donors and philanthropists, whose trust and contributions sustain the association’s impactful programs. He highlighted that Sharjah’s charitable work stands out for being institutional, well-organized, and research-based, relying on close cooperation with various community institutions. This approach, he said, embodies the spirit of solidarity and compassion that defines Sharjah under the leadership of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
