The competition, which lasts two weeks, has attracted broad participation from throughout the UAE, demonstrating the award’s increasing status as a premier national platform for Quran and Sunnah memorisation and recitation.
This year’s edition saw the participation of 1,314 contestants, including 675 males and 639 females from various age groups. All participants were tested at the Foundation’s headquarters in Sharjah, where they were received in a welcoming environment with streamlined electronic registration and well-organised testing arrangements.
The award encompasses a wide range of categories, including Quran memorisation, Imams and teachers, Mothers who memorise the Quran, Qira’at (recitations), Best Quranic recitation (Al-Mahir bil-Quran), and Hadith (Prophetic traditions). Additional categories feature Best Private Quran Centre in Sharjah, Best Quranic Circle, and a new division dedicated to recitations across the emirate.
Specialised evaluation committees have been established to assess contestants according to strict standards of memorisation, tajweed (recitation rules), and performance. These committees comprise distinguished scholars and experts in Quran and Sunnah competitions to guarantee fairness and accuracy in the results.
His Excellency Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Sunnah, emphasised that the award remains one of the foundational pillars established by the Ruler of Sharjah to foster generations grounded in Islamic values. He observed that the increasing participation demonstrates the commitment of families and parents to instilling Quranic and Prophetic teachings in their children.
His Excellency stated that the Foundation provided an ideal environment for contestants — from smooth reception and digital registration to well-prepared exam halls and transparent evaluation processes. He affirmed that these efforts mirror Sharjah’s vision to foster balanced, moderate generations guided by faith and knowledge.
The preliminary rounds represent a crucial stage leading to the final phases, where leading contestants across all categories will compete at a higher level in the Quran and Sunnah branches. The ongoing increase in participation each year reaffirms the award’s success as a national platform dedicated to the service of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Sultan Bin Dalmouk concluded by thanking the judging panels and organising teams, and praised wise leadership for its steadfast support in making the service of the Quran and Sunnah a key part of Sharjah’s cultural and civilisational mission.
