Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, stated that the new partnership marks a significant advancement in using digital innovation to promote Sharjah’s tourism assets globally. The collaboration will enhance interactive tourism services on Yango Maps, offering users, especially Russian-speaking tourists, detailed information about Sharjah’s landmarks, cultural sites, and attractions.
Al Midfa explained that the partnership, initially planned for three years, is the first of its kind in the region and aims to position Sharjah as a leader in smart destination management. The project will make it easier for Yango users to explore Sharjah’s rich tourism offerings, discover hidden gems, and access authentic travel experiences through a digital, multilingual interface.
The initiative supports Sharjah’s wider digital transformation strategy, aligning with the emirate’s vision to incorporate advanced technologies into public services and the tourism sector. By combining SCTDA’s expertise in destination promotion with Yango’s innovative mapping solutions, the collaboration aims to enhance the overall visitor experience and attract new audiences from international markets.
