SIF 2025 welcomes global leaders from 142 countries

Sharjah24: The 8th Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2025) opens to participants from 142 countries, offering a chance to engage with ministers, officials, and international leaders. Held with the World Investment Conference (WIC), it will explore global economic shifts, sustainable investment, career growth, and partnership models for sustainable development. On 22-23 October at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, over 130 speakers, including entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and media and sports figures, will share insights into transforming experience into successful investment ventures, promoting innovation and boosting sustainable investment in the UAE and Arab region.

Global perspectives on the future of investment

A high-level session led by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi will explore strategies to support economic growth and resilience amid geopolitical tensions, financial fluctuations, and climate disruptions. The forum’s opening will include His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi and Her Excellency Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, who will discuss UAE’s economic diversification and green economy goals. International participation will feature ministers from Azerbaijan, Honduras, and Pakistan, who will highlight their countries’ strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Senior officials and international organisations

The session features senior officials, including His Excellency Fahad Al Gergawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade; His Excellency Mohammad AbdulRahman Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment; His Excellency Osama Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary at MoIAT; and His Excellency Zaher Al Qatarneh, Secretary General of Jordan's Ministry of Investment. The two-day event will also include leaders like Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of the World Free Zones Organisation; Dr James Zhan, WIC Executive Board Chair; Dr Matthew Stephenson, WEF Investment Head; Nobel laureate Raekwon Chung, climate policy expert; Gunther Beger, UNIDO SDG Innovation MD; Creon Butler, Chatham House Senior Director; Wolfgang Engel, IIF General Manager; Ebba Lund, IASP CEO; Walid Farghal, AIM Congress Director; and Ismail Erhasin, WAIPA CEO.

Business leaders and CEOs to join strategic discussions

This year’s forum features senior executives and industry leaders in high-level discussions. Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar Properties and Chairman of Eagle Hills, will discuss the future of investment in smart cities and experience economy. Shaker Zainal, Deputy CEO & Chief Business Officer at Emirates Development Bank, will talk about development finance institutions' role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurs. Khalifa Al Hajeri, CEO of Emirates Growth Fund, will explore sustainable financing tools to stimulate economic growth. Jigar Sagar, Founder of Triliv Holding, will examine private capital shift towards green sectors and tech.

Global sports and media figures add unique perspectives

SIF 2025 will feature prominent figures from media and sport, adding depth to discussions. Kris Fade, a recognised radio host and entrepreneur, will moderate a session with Emirati businessman Mohamed Alabbar. Edgar Davids, a Dutch footballer, will share leadership lessons from sports that are applicable to business. Boxer Amir Khan will discuss his global career, determination, personal investment, and youth empowerment. Patrice Evra, ex-Manchester United captain, will talk about his journey into entrepreneurship focused on mental health and social equality. Chris Knight of Financial Times Locations will examine global financial media trends and their impact on emerging markets.

Sharjah hosts global dialogue on investment

Sharjah’s leadership will be central, featuring officials like Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, and Hussain Al Mahmoudi. They will highlight Sharjah’s strategic position and its focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and diversification for sustainable growth. Organised by the Sharjah FDI Office with WAIPA and the UAE Ministry of Investment, SIF 2025 will host panels, sessions, and workshops to discuss economic growth, global trends, sustainability, and emerging sectors.
