Sharjah24: The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has signed a cooperation agreement with e& UAE to provide arriving tourists with free visitor SIM cards upon arrival at Sharjah Airport. The initiative aims to enhance the travel experience, improve digital accessibility, and reflect Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to deliver innovative, seamless services to all passengers.

The new service enables travellers to connect to the internet immediately upon landing, offering 10 GB of complimentary data valid for 24 hours. This allows users to access vital applications such as maps, taxi bookings, digital payments, and messaging services, ensuring convenience and efficiency throughout their journey.

Commitment to service excellence

His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “We welcome this collaboration with e& UAE to provide incoming tourists with internet connectivity from the moment they arrive, ensuring a more convenient and comfortable experience. This initiative reflects our commitment to building effective partnerships that enhance service quality and deliver added value to visitors. It also underscores Sharjah Airport’s dedication to creating a welcoming environment that supports Sharjah’s position as a preferred destination for tourism and business.”

Seamless communication from arrival

Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, added, “The free SIM card ensures visitors stay connected from the moment they arrive, offering greater convenience and a smoother travel experience. Travellers can manage their communication needs even before collecting their luggage, providing a seamless start to exploring the UAE and its landmarks.”

Supporting Sharjah’s growth and digital vision

During the first half of 2025, Sharjah Airport welcomed over 9.1 million passengers, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. As passenger numbers continue to grow, this initiative represents a strategic step in digital transformation, enhancing the UAE’s leadership in connectivity and smart mobility.

The partnership also exemplifies successful public-private collaboration, reinforcing the shared vision to elevate the national digital experience and promote Sharjah as a global centre for travel and innovation.
