The ceremony, attended by faculty members and leaders from health institutions, began with the UAE national anthem followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Dr. Asma Naseeri, Director of the Continuing Education and Professional Development Center, emphasized that the program represents a comprehensive practical experience beyond traditional academic frameworks. She highlighted that the program was designed and implemented in collaboration with distinguished faculty and experts to prepare cadres capable of strategic decision-making and effective change management, supporting the nation’s vision for institutional excellence and innovation.
Dr Kulthum Al Balushi, CEO of Innovation and Director of Training and Development at Emirates Health Services, affirmed that the program embodies the institution's commitment to building qualified national leaders equipped with advanced tools and supporting the efficiency of the healthcare system. She described the program as a comprehensive experience in smart leadership and digital transformation, merging knowledge with practical application, and instilling an evidence-based decision-making culture among future leaders. Investing in national competencies, she said, is key to a competitive, innovative future and a driver for sustainable excellence and leadership, as reflected in today’s graduates who contribute to achieving the vision of “We are the UAE 2031” and the UAE Centennial 2071.
The Executive Leadership Preparation Diploma is a leading professional program at the University of Sharjah, targeting the development of national leaders in health institutions by equipping them with advanced knowledge and leadership skills aligned with modern requirements. The curriculum covers essential areas including effective leadership, strategic leadership and future foresight, risk and crisis management, building high-performance teams, innovation and entrepreneurship, data science to support strategic decisions, and the future of work amid digital transformation.
The program comprised 140 hours of theoretical and practical training including lectures, workshops, case studies, and supervised individual projects. Participants also benefited from field training opportunities within Emirates Health Services, enhancing their ability to translate acquired knowledge into practical applications that advance national work environments.
The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 40 executive leaders from Emirates Health Services who successfully completed the program’s requirements. On behalf of the graduates, Dr. Khalil Al Matrooshi, Director of Kalba Hospital, expressed pride in this distinguished educational experience combining in-depth academic study and intensive practical training. Graduates acknowledged that the program significantly developed their leadership and strategic planning capabilities, preparing them to face future challenges. They also expressed gratitude to the University of Sharjah and Emirates Health Services for the support and opportunity provided. The event concluded with a video presentation documenting the participants’ journey throughout the program.
