The season reflects months of effort by the channel’s media and professional team. Its varied content aims to highlight the region’s heritage, environment, and the unique events and festivals taking place in the central area of Sharjah.
The Channel’s new offerings include Stories from the Desert, which presents tales, memories, and experiences from the region that continue to inspire future generations. Asakum ‘ala Al-Quwa highlights the pioneering work of local government entities in serving the community, while Sharjah Safari offers a visually engaging look at animal life in the region. A Day in the Life of a Student provides insights into students’ academic life at University of Al Dhaid, including their main fields of study, activities, and graduation projects.
Agricultural programmes also feature prominently. Khayrat Al Wusta explores the region’s abundant agricultural resources and groundwater, while the documentary Sab’ Sanabel traces the stages of wheat cultivation in Mleiha and its role in supporting agricultural development and food security.
Camel-related content includes Al-Mudmar Al-Saghir, which teaches children and adults about camel care, racing, and traditional practices. Ahl Al-Ibl focuses on camel owners and breeders, discussing all aspects of camel life, including training, breeds, and health.
The cultural dimension is enriched through Majlis Al-Shu’ara, which features prominent poets from across the UAE, and Sira Sha’ir, highlighting notable poets from the central region. Jalsat Shawabna conveys wisdom and sayings from elders, while popular returning programmes such as Zill Al-Ghafah, Buq’ah, Yaqul Al-Fahim, and Al-Arabah continue to explore local traditions and dialects.
Programmes celebrating heritage and lifestyle include Bariq Al-Dhakira, where mothers and grandmothers recount their life journeys, and Qahwat Al-Duha, which addresses social, family, cultural, and heritage topics focused on women in the central region. Aklat Sha’biyya presents traditional regional dishes that have been passed down through generations.
Religious content continues with Tadabburat Qur’aniyya, which interprets verses of the Qur’an, complemented by Noor Al-Qur’an, featuring insights from scholars and preachers.
Community and news-focused programmes include Yawmiyat Al-Wusta, providing live morning coverage of key events and activities, Swalif Masiyan, where hosts and guests discuss topics relevant to the community, and Hawayat wa Maqtaniyat, showcasing local creativity and unique collections.
Saeed Rashid Al Ketbi, Director of Al Wusta Channel, said: “This programming season is the largest and most diverse in the channel’s history, with 26 programmes highlighting the rich cultural and popular heritage of the central region and reflecting major development projects initiated by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.”
