September 11, 2025 / 12:56 PM
Sharjah24: Her Excellency Alison Milton, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Arab Emirates, addressed attendees on the second day of the 14th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB). The event, held at the Expo Centre Sharjah on September 10 and 11, 2025, revolves around the theme "Communication for Quality of Life" and features an impressive lineup of 237 speakers from around the globe.

Ambassador Milton emphasised that quality of life is a concept characterized by diversity, and there is no single global definition that can encompass all its aspects. She noted that human connection plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life, and the essence of this concept lies in finding common ground among individuals rather than focusing on differences.

She also highlighted the necessity for people to take effective actions to improve their quality of life, stressing that these steps require a collective awareness and a genuine desire for cooperation. Milton called for a focus on shared humanity, urging individuals to communicate with one another and engage in meaningful dialogue.

Furthermore, she pointed out that positive dialogue can lead to better understanding and enhance relationships between different cultures, contributing to the building of more cohesive and collaborative communities.

Also present at the session was His Excellency Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR).
