Sharjah24: Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, stated that the UAE holds a distinguished position among nations in achieving sustainability goals. He highlighted that the country’s two decades of consistent effort have placed it among the top ten nations in sustainable economy and renewable energy.
Speaking to Sharjah 24 during a panel organised by the Department of Suburbs & Village Affairs under the theme “A Voice from the Community… Insights from Reality”, Al Nuaimi noted that challenges remain in food and water security. However, he emphasised that these challenges require time and sustained effort, which could eventually position the UAE as a regional and global leader in sustainability initiatives.
