The course was presented by Dr Captain Abdul Amir Al Faraj, an expert in maritime dispute investigation from Kuwait, who provided participants with scientific and practical insights into investigation mechanisms and global best practices in this vital sector.
Broad institutional participation
The four-day course, which began this morning and will continue for four days, witnessed the participation of several representatives from relevant entities, including the National Guard Command, the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, and the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority. This reflects the integrated institutional efforts to enhance the efficiency of the emirate's maritime system.
Practical simulations and intensive training
The course focused on discussing practical and realistic scenarios, where a number of maritime accidents were simulated to apply investigation theories to real-life situations. Participants received intensive training on how to collect evidence, interview witnesses, analyse data, and draw conclusions that help identify the root causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence in the future, contributing to creating a safer marine environment for all.

His Excellency Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, Director General of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, emphasised that this course represents a fundamental pillar of the club's strategy to build qualified national cadres according to the highest international standards. He pointed out that investing in enhancing human capabilities is an investment in a safer future for marine sports and activities, enhancing the emirate's position as a leading center of excellence in this sector and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals.
In line with marine sports regulations
This course is being organised in implementation of the provisions of Executive Council Resolution No. (7) of 2024 regarding the regulation and licensing of marine sports activities in the Emirate of Sharjah. This course contributes to raising awareness and adherence to regulations and procedures aimed at enhancing the safety of lives and property and protecting the marine environment.
