Sharjah24: University of Sharjah (UOS) is participating in the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) 2025, held on September 10 and 11, with a vibrant lineup of panel discussions and hands-on workshops unpacking the future of government communication in times of crisis and climate change. The event, hosted in Sharjah, spotlights the intersection of artificial intelligence and digital media, gathering thought leaders, students, and professionals on the University’s dedicated forum platform.
Over two dialogue sessions and four dynamic workshops, attendees will tackle fifteen specialised themes ranging from media’s pivotal role in crisis and climate management, to strategies for crafting compelling communication in emergencies and exploring the ethical boundaries of AI in public messaging. Live demonstrations will showcase cutting-edge tools for creating media images, videos, and news content.

His Excellency Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasised that the University’s participation stems from a vision to be a driving force in academic and research leadership for government communication and media. “This is an invaluable chance for students and practitioners to bridge theory with real-world skills, preparing a new generation of media professionals fluent in digital content and contemporary communication,” he said.

Prof. Agamy also highlighted UoS’s enduring commitment to social progress and the Emirate’s future vision for sustainable development, anchored by effective communication and meaningful engagement. The University’s involvement aims to bring fresh solutions to urgent issues, such as climate risks, artificial intelligence, and sustainability, reinforcing Sharjah’s regional leadership in building a transparent, collaborative government communication ecosystem.

Dr Shareefa Al Marzooqi, Director of the University’s Media Center, added that the IGCF reflects a truly global perspective on modern media and communications, aligning perfectly with government strategies to serve society. Dr Al Marzooqi noted the sector’s role as a bedrock in driving progress, raising awareness, and connecting strategic goals to target audiences with clarity. The forum also opens doors for communication students to network with top media professionals locally and internationally, gain from workshops and panels, and gain firsthand experience in news coverage and event management.
