Several injured in knife attack in Marseille, Southern France

Sharjah 24 – AFP: French police shot and killed a man suspected of stabbing several people in Marseille on Tuesday afternoon. The attack took place on Cours Belsunce, a busy area near the Old Port known for drug-related activity.

At least four victims stabbed
According to security sources, the attacker injured at least four people before police intervened. The condition of the victims has not yet been confirmed.

Police respond rapidly
Witnesses reported that police arrived quickly at the scene. One eyewitness said officers tried to arrest the suspect outside a fast-food restaurant, but the man attempted to attack an officer with a knife. The officer reportedly shouted, "Stop, stop!" before the suspect was fatally shot.

Motive still unknown
Authorities have not yet released any information about the attacker’s identity or possible motives. An investigation is ongoing.
