Sharjah24 - WAM: About 622 people were killed in an earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan, authorities said on Monday.
The Afghan interior ministry reported that a magnitude 6 earthquake injured over 1,500 people. According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers, approximately 27 kilometers northeast of Jalalabad in Nangarhar Province, near the Pakistan border.
