Kalba International Youth Volleyball Championship concluded

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Abdulmalik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), crowned the winning teams in the Kalba International Youth Volleyball Championship, concluded on Sunday. Kalba Club was crowned the Cubs Cup champion after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bahrain's Dar Kulaib, while Saudi Al Hilal won the Juniors Cup after defeating Kalba by the same score (3-2).

The closing ceremony was attended His Excellency Osama Gargash, Vice President of the UAE Volleyball Association; His Excellency Rashid Saeed bin Frish Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kalba Club and Chairman of the Tournament Organising Committee; representatives of government institutions and departments; and a large crowd that filled the gymnasium for a packed evening of sporting events.

Great achievement

During the ceremony, the second- and third-place teams in the two categories were honoured: In the Juniors category, the silver medal went to Kalba Club, and the bronze medal went to Bahrain's Dar Kulaib.

In the Cubs category, the silver medal went to Bahrain's Dar Kulaib, and the bronze to Kuwait's Kazma Club. The best players in various positions in the junior and youth categories, as well as the technical and administrative staff, were also honoured in recognition of their contributions and excellence during the tournament.

Recognition

In his speech during the ceremony, His Excellency Rashid Al Kindi extended his deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support for sports and youth. He also praised the patronage and follow-up of Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Khorfakkan and Chairman of the Club, and  Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba and Vice Chairman of the Club. He also commended the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council and the UAE Volleyball Association in making the tournament a success.

Al Kindi emphasised that the tournament succeeded in achieving its goals, as it witnessed high technical standards and a refined competitive spirit, reflecting the development of the game in the region. He promised that the tournament would return in future editions, even stronger and more distinguished.
