UAE FA holds draws for President’s Cup and youth tournaments

Sharjah 24: The UAE Football Association hosted the official draw for the preliminary rounds of several major domestic competitions at its headquarters in Dubai, including the President's Cup, the Federation Cup, and youth team tournaments across multiple age categories.

Draw covers all age groups and divisions

The draw included fixtures for youth cups in the U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17, U-19, and U-21 categories. These competitions have seen growing interest in recent years and continue to run alongside league formats for each age group. Officials from the Competitions Department conducted the draw, which aims to foster greater engagement at the youth level.

Federation Cup returns to expand club competition

The Federation Cup draw marked the tournament’s return, in line with the Football Association’s goal to broaden the competitive landscape. The preliminary round will feature second- and third-division clubs in single-elimination matches hosted at the home ground of one of the teams. The 17 winning teams from this round will move on to the final stage. These matches are scheduled to begin on November 14.

President’s Cup preliminary round begins September 13

The draw for the President's Cup qualifiers featured matchups between first-division clubs in a knockout format, starting from the round of 16 and continuing through to the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners will advance to the final round of the prestigious tournament. The qualifiers are set to kick off on September 13.

The draw event was attended by members of the Football Association’s Board of Directors and club representatives, underlining the significance of these competitions in the national football calendar.
