Sharjah 24 – AFP: Cadillac has officially announced that Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas will be the drivers for its debut season in the Formula 1 World Championship, starting in 2026.

Experienced drivers return to the grid

Both drivers, aged 35, were absent from the 2025 F1 season. Sergio Perez lost his seat at Red Bull after racing alongside reigning world champion Max Verstappen from 2021 to 2024. Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas lost his place at Sauber and has since taken on a reserve role with Mercedes.

Cadillac joins Formula 1 in 2026

Cadillac, supported by General Motors and TWG Motorsports, received final approval to enter Formula 1 in March 2025. This came after months of negotiations and an initial agreement in principle. Cadillac’s entry marks the first new team in the championship since Haas joined in 2016.
