The Sharjah team’s brilliance dominated the global stage in the opening round after a strong performance from both drivers throughout the race days, reinforcing the club’s position as one of the leading contenders for the world title this season.
The Director General of Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, expressed his great pride in this achievement, saying: “What was achieved at the Sardinia Grand Prix is the result of good planning and integrated preparation during the pre-season period. The Sharjah team has proven that it possesses all the qualities of a championship team, thanks to the unlimited support of our wise leadership and the competence of our drivers. We promise our fans more achievements.”
Al Hosani added: “In a parallel achievement to the race result itself, the boat that carried driver Stefan Arand to first place in the Sardinia Grand Prix carries a purely Emirati identity, as it was fully manufactured in Sharjah under the supervision of engineers and technicians at Sharjah International Marine Sports Club. This boat is the first Formula 1-class vessel to be locally manufactured and win a World Championship round, marking a major leap in UAE sports manufacturing and confirming that Sharjah is no longer only a platform for champions, but also a workshop for producing global winning formulas.”
