UAE rescue team tackles forest fires in Albania

Aerial firefighting missions and impact

Since arriving in Albania, the team has completed 27 specialized aerial missions using two “Black Hawk” helicopters, performing 680 targeted water drops and deploying over 1,261 tons of water to contain and limit the fire spread.

Challenges and cooperation with Albanian authorities

Despite facing high temperatures and rugged terrain, the UAE team operates in close coordination with Albanian authorities, working in areas such as Gramsh, Ballolli, and Vlorë. Ongoing meetings aim to enhance firefighting plans and monitor recovered zones to prevent fire resurgence.
