Sharjah 24: Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Al Shamsi, director general of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, has honoured an Asian resident for his bravery and volunteer efforts in extinguishing a vehicle fire. The man used his equipment to help control the blaze, reducing potential damage and helping to bring the fire under control swiftly.

Incident

The incident occurred when a vehicle from a waste transport company caught fire in one of Sharjah's industrial neighbourhoods. When the resident saw the flames, he immediately intervened with his personal crane and worked alongside civil defence teams. His prompt and voluntary response helped keep the fire from spreading and aided the firefighters' efforts to contain the incident swiftly and successfully, with no injuries reported.

Honouring event

The honouring event shows the authority's dedication to establishing community partnerships and rewarding individual initiatives that demonstrate civic duty and collaboration with official bodies.
