His Excellency Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Yousef Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority (SCDA), accompanied by His Excellency Brigadier General Saeed Obaid Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director of SCDA, visited several fire and rescue stations across the emirate during Eid Al Adha.

The visit reflected his commitment to sharing the festive occasion with Civil Defence personnel and reviewing the level of preparedness and readiness to respond to incidents and emergency calls throughout the holiday period.

Accompanied by a number of senior officers, the Director-General met with on-duty teams and reviewed operational activities, response plans, and procedures designed to ensure rapid intervention and safeguard community safety. He was also briefed on field operation mechanisms, the readiness of equipment and vehicles, and the level of coordination between stations and operations rooms to ensure the efficient handling of emergency reports.

Al Shamsi commends readiness and dedication of on-duty teams

Brigadier General Al Shamsi affirmed that such field visits are conducted in recognition of the significant efforts made by Civil Defence personnel during public holidays and special occasions, while also ensuring continuous communication with operational teams and maintaining readiness across the Authority’s response system.

He stressed that Civil Defence personnel represent the first line of defence in protecting lives and property and continue to perform their national duty with dedication and professionalism. During the visit, he exchanged Eid greetings with officers and personnel and praised their commitment despite their operational responsibilities during the holiday.

Al Shamsi noted that the high level of preparedness and discipline demonstrated by on-duty teams reflects the professionalism of SCDA personnel and their commitment to carrying out their humanitarian and national mission. He added that the advanced readiness and responsiveness achieved by Civil Defense teams remain a fundamental pillar in supporting the emirate’s safety system and protecting lives and property.

The tour forms part of the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen direct engagement with field personnel, monitor station readiness across the emirate, and further enhance emergency response efficiency. The Authority continues to implement preventive and awareness programmes throughout the year to promote safety and provide a secure and sustainable environment for the community.
