Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Dhaid Camel Race Track hosted the exciting Fatameen Age race for locally bred camels on Saturday morning, 19 July 2025. The event was organised and supervised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club.
A total of 1,000 young camels bred by members of local tribes competed across 18 heats, including eight for female participants from Al Dhaid, six in the open category, and four in the Saoub class. The race covered a distance of 1,500 metres.

In the first heat, Al Shahiniya, owned by Shteit Musbeh Meshar Ajtbi, claimed first place with the best time of 2:07:93. The second heat was won by Sayyaf, owned by Mohammed Khalfan Al Ameri Al Ketbi, while the third saw Marmoqa, by Muheir Ali Lahij Ajtbi, take the lead. Al Hather, owned by Tarish Ali Bkheet Al Mesafri, topped the fourth heat, and Fal, by Salem Rashid Humaid Al Khassouni, won the fifth. In the sixth, Shamadan, by Hamad Rashid Mohammed Al Mutfaij Al Ketbi, secured victory, followed by Joud, by Matar Hamad Abdullah Falaq Al Ketbi, in the seventh, and Shaheen, by Mohammed Hamad Suhail Al Shamsi, in the eighth.

The ninth heat went to Hamloola, by Ahmed Musbeh Abdullah Al Dahmani, and the tenth to Shaheen, by Salem Khamis Khalfan Al Razzi Al Shamsi. In the eleventh, Najah, by Mohammed Ghulam Musa Ahmed Al Baloushi, came out on top, while the twelfth was won by Mushghil, by Abdulwahab Haibakhsh Ghulam Al Baloushi. Al Shahiniya, owned by Salem Khalfan bin Nawwas Al Ketbi, claimed victory in both the thirteenth and fifteenth heats. The fourteenth and sixteenth heats were won by Shaheen, owned respectively by Mohammed Hamad Suhail Al Shamsi and Mubarak Saghir Markhan Al Ketbi. In the seventeenth heat, Al Shababiya, by Saif Muheir Ali Al Khurum Al Ketbi, took first place, while Al Sulaimani, by Saeed Rashid Al Shahwani, concluded the competition with a win in the eighteenth heat.

The event highlighted the growing enthusiasm for camel racing in Sharjah and the continued support of traditional heritage sports.
