Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the organiser of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), confirmed that July 24 is the deadline for receiving applications for the 12th edition of the award.
SGMB invites various entities and individuals from within the UAE and abroad to apply for the direct submission categories via the award's official website, gca.sgmb.ae, before the registration deadline closes.

The direct submission awards include all awards for the government sector, the private sector, international organisations, and individual awards.

23 Main categories

This year's award includes 23 main categories distributed across five diverse sectors: government entities, the private sector, and international organisations; individual awards; and creative competition awards. Special awards are also awarded based on nominations from the jury, as well as others presented in partnership with regional and international institutions. The Direct Submission Awards provide a unique opportunity for organisations and individuals to highlight their pioneering communication experiences. The public, private, and international organisation categories include several awards dedicated to institutional excellence, such as "Best Integrated Communication System," "Best Innovation in Government Communication," and "Best Crisis Communication Strategy."

They also include categories focused on cultural identity, youth empowerment, communication with children and adolescents, social responsibility, soft power, technology, internal communication, private sector campaigns, and sustainable digital communication.

Individual awards celebrating impact makers

The individual awards enable specialists and impact makers to nominate themselves in the following categories: "Best Youth Initiative in Communication," "Best Official Spokesperson," "Change Makers with Distinctive Digital Content," and "Best Research in Communication Sciences."

These categories are dedicated to those who have made a clear impact on developing the communication landscape and serving the community. The award's categories, open for direct submission, target a wide spectrum of communication stakeholders. It is open to government agencies at all administrative levels, private sector companies and institutions, both large and emerging, as well as international and regional organizations active in development and communication.

The award also includes specialists in government and corporate communication, social influencers, and individual initiatives with a social impact, as well as young communication pioneers and media and public relations professionals working in various institutions around the world.
