Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Camel Racing Club recently welcomed members of the Sharjah Sports Summer Program at the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club. They were greeted by Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, the Chairman of the club, Khalid Matar Al Tunaiji, a board member, and several club staff members. During the visit, participants enjoyed a tour of the Al Dhaid camel racing grounds and learned about how camels are prepared for racing.

Bin Huwaiden expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the Summer Sports Program, highlighting the club's goal of working closely with other organizations to teach young people about camel racing and to preserve this important cultural tradition.

As part of the visit, a workshop called "Heritage on the Saddle" was held, where club staff explained the different gear used for camel riding, as well as its parts and functions. Khalid Matar Al Tunaiji also demonstrated how to ride camels and prepare them for racing while showcasing both traditional and modern tools used in the sport.

Al Ketbi emphasized that the club is dedicated to preserving heritage and offering educational and sports programs. This commitment is especially aimed at introducing younger generations to their cultural roots. Al Tunaiji noted that the participants not only gained practical skills but also learned about the historical and social importance of camels in Emirati culture. Camels have been a significant part of Emirati life for centuries, making their knowledge essential to understanding local heritage.
