Sharjah 24: To improve safety at construction sites, the Sharjah Police, through the Al Sajaa Police Station, recently conducted a practical experiment called "Security Monitoring." This initiative took place in the Al Shnouf area and worked in partnership with the Sharjah Municipality and other local organizations.

The goal of this pilot program was to boost safety standards at construction sites by using new preventive measures. These measures aim to protect the sites and raise awareness among contractors about their role in safeguarding buildings and property during construction. Since the initiative started in March, there have been no reported security issues, which is a positive outcome.

Colonel Abdullah Al-Malih, the head of Al Sajaa Police Station, explained that the project involved regular visits to construction sites and the sharing of security updates through quick communication channels. They also set up surveillance cameras and provided around-the-clock security. Contractors played a crucial role by sharing information from their sites in real-time, complete with images and documentation. This collaboration helped improve security monitoring and made it more effective.

Colonel Al-Malih highlighted that the success of this initiative depended on contractors recognizing their importance in maintaining security and responding positively to safety guidelines. He pointed out that everyone must work together—both security agencies and the community—to ensure ongoing safety and stability in construction areas.

He also mentioned that Sharjah Police plans to further develop these preventive programs in collaboration with partners and may expand this approach to other parts of the emirate. This effort aims to create a safer and more sustainable construction environment that meets the community's needs and supports urban growth.
