During the meeting, Mona Al Hawai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Kidney Patients Association, reviewed the association’s key achievements in 2024. These included educational campaigns and awareness workshops aimed at promoting kidney disease prevention and encouraging healthy lifestyles in the community.
The members unanimously approved the administrative and financial reports for the previous year, reaffirming the association’s commitment to the highest standards of transparency and institutional governance. The 2025 action plan and general budget were also reviewed, with a focus on expanding awareness programmes and launching innovative initiatives to support kidney patients both medically and socially.
The meeting also witnessed the adoption of the new board structure. Mona Al Hawai was appointed Chairman, and the board included Fatima Ahmed Al Naqbi, Aisha Ibrahim Al Ali, Aisha Ahmed Al Muadhin, Rima Ahmed Al Hammadi, Najlaa Darwish Murad, Obaid Hadid Al Khamisi, Shaikha Essa Al Mughni, and Abdullatif Mustafa Al Qadi. This restructure reflects the association’s drive to strengthen its institutional capacity by leveraging qualified talents, advancing volunteer healthcare work, and reinforcing its role as a key player in community awareness and kidney patient support.
In her speech, Mona Al Hawai reaffirmed, “At FOKP, we are committed to expanding awareness programmes and promoting a culture of early prevention, aiming to build a community that is more conscious of kidney health, in line with the UAE’s vision for sustainable health and quality of life.”
The meeting concluded with praise for the association’s health initiatives and an emphasis on the importance of continuing efforts to raise public awareness and improve services for kidney patients.
