The festival took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 and took place at the Al Dhaid Sports Club swimming pool for boys and the Halwan Children Centre for girls.
Participants competed in several races, including freestyle swimming, stroke swimming, and backstroke swimming, with distances appropriate for their age group.
The festival aims to promote a sports culture among children, instill a spirit of fair competition, evaluate participants' swimming skills, and develop their abilities. It also supports institutional partnerships with Sharjah clubs and the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), as part of Sharjah Children's efforts to diversify its sports activities for children.
The festival saw fierce competition, revealing promising swimming skills. The top three winners in each category were crowned, and all participants were honoured in a special festive atmosphere, attended by the children's parents and the centers' administrative and technical staff.
Hassan Younis Al Zarouni, General Supervisor of the Sports Track at Sharjah Children, said that organising the swimming festival this year for the first time, in cooperation with SSC, is part of Sharjah Children plans to develop children's physical and mental skills through fun and purposeful sports activities. Sharjah Children is keen to provide a stimulating environment that fosters a spirit of competition and cooperation among participants, contributing to building self-confidence and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Al Zarouni added that the festival goal is not limited to entertainment, but extends to instilling a spirit of competition, measuring the level of players, and monitoring and attracting talented individuals to clubs, in cooperation with partners in sports institutions.
Sharjah Children appreciates SSC support for this event, and extends thanks to Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club for their generous hosting.
Through its sports programmes, Sharjah Children seeks to harness the energies of its members and develop their capabilities within its fully integrated, state-of-the-art facilities, under the supervision of specialised trainers. This aligns with its vision of building informed and influential generations capable of actively participating in community service. It's worth noting that Sharjah Children is committed to organising quality sports festivals throughout the year. These festivals promote a healthy lifestyle and provide a stimulating environment for children to discover their potential and develop their skills, which will positively impact their lives.
