Central Region Clubs meet to compete in Maliha Club

Sharjah24: The Central Region of the Emirate of Sharjah saw an exceptional sports day of community cohesion and sporting excellence. Maliha Sports Club, in cooperation with the Parents' Council of the Central Region, affiliated with Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), organized, on Sunday, the Central Region Sports Clubs Championship under the generous patronage of His Excellency Rashid Abdullah Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Parents' Council of the Central Region.

The championship brought together four of the emirate's most prominent clubs: Al Dhaid Sports Club, Al Bataeh Sports Club, Al Madam Sports Club, and the host Maliha Sports Club.

This sporting event embodied the spirit of fair competition among youngsters and emphasised the important role sports clubs play in honing the skills of future generations and promoting the values of belonging, perseverance, and ambition. The official and community attendance was commendable, with the tournament's venues filled with prominent figures and community, sports, and educational leaders who participated in creating a picture of pride and honor for this sporting event. Among them were the tournament sponsor, His Excellency Rashid Al Mahyan; His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maliha Cultural and Sports Club; His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Mu'adhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club; His Excellency Musabah Saif Awad, Director of the Maliha Municipality; His Excellency Saeed Rashid bin Fadhel Al Ketbi, Director of Al Wusta Channel in Al Dhaid; and His Excellency Dr. Saeed Balaith Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Arabic Language Protection Association.

The tournament was also attended by athletes and sports professionals.

Developing youth talents

The tournament was opened with a speech by His Excellency Rashid Al Mahyan, who gave the starting signal, emphasising the importance of these unique tournaments in developing the talents of youngsters and instilling in them a spirit of fair competition and sports discipline. He also commended the efforts of the participating clubs and their commitment to contributing to building a solid sporting foundation that will form the foundation for the future of sport in the Emirate of Sharjah.

An occasion to unify clubs

His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi commended the remarkable success achieved by the tournament in terms of organisation, participation, and outcomes. He commended His Excellency Al Mahyan's patronage, emphasising that this sporting gathering is not merely a competitive event, but rather an occasion that reflects the unity of the clubs and the complementary roles they play in supporting youth and directing their energies toward sporting excellence and behavioural discipline.

Varied competitions

The competitions kicked off amid an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and interaction. Activities included several vital sports, most notably the 3x3 basketball tournament, which resulted in Al Bataeh Club winning first place thanks to the strong performance and harmony among its players.

Maliha Club, finished second, while Al Madam Club came in third and Al Dhaid Club finished fourth. In the individual skills competitions, prominent names emerged, such as Harith Saeed from Al Bataeh Club, who won first place in shooting skills, followed by Maran Al Mazmi from Al Dhaid Club, and then Butti Yousef from Maliha Club.

In the dialogue skills and peaceful shooting, Salem Da'ish from Al Madam Club excelled, taking first place, followed by Maid Al Mazmi from Al Dhaid, and then Abdulaziz Saeed from Al Bataeh.

The events continued in the swimming pool, where participants competed in various age groups in individual and relay races. Al Dhaid Club dominated most of the top positions, with swimmer Ali Suhail winning first place in the 11-12 age group, while Mohammed Saeed Shuwain took first place in the 15-16 age group. The remaining places were distributed among the clubs from Al Dhaid, Al Bataeh, and Maliha. The relay races witnessed remarkable success for Al Dhaid Club in the 11-12 and 13-14 age categories, while Maliha Club won the 15-16 age category relay.

Among the accompanying events, a water sports festival was organised, bringing together teams from the three clubs: Al Bataeh, Al Dhaid, and Maliha.

Honouring

The event was held in an atmosphere of fun, energy, and positive interaction. All participating clubs were honoured for their role in the success of this community sporting event.

The tournament concluded with a joyful ceremony honouring the winning teams and outstanding players. This was a moment of pride and appreciation for the efforts of the clubs, coaches, and parents who contributed to preparing these champions, as well as for the organisation of Maliha Club, which once again proved that it is not just a sports club, but a beacon of community radiance, illuminating the skies of the Central Region with its unique initiatives and impactful events that integrate sports and community within a comprehensive development framework.
