Nine children of Gaza doctor couple killed in Israeli strike

Sharjah 24 – AFP: Gaza's civil defence agency reported on Saturday that an Israeli airstrike in the southern city of Khan Yunis resulted in the deaths of nine children from a single family. The victims were the children of married doctors, Dr Hamdi al-Najjar and Dr Alaa al-Najjar.

Israeli army reviewing incident

The Israeli military stated that it is reviewing the reports surrounding the incident. The attack is part of Israel’s intensified military campaign in Gaza.

Intensified campaign draws global criticism

Israel’s recent escalation in Gaza has attracted widespread international condemnation. The campaign has also sparked urgent calls for increased humanitarian access following the partial lifting of an aid blockade imposed since March 2.

Civil defence recovers bodies

According to civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal, rescue teams recovered "the bodies of nine child martyrs, some of them charred," from the family’s home.
