Casualties reported in Gaza City, north and south
In Gaza City’s Sabra neighbourhood, an airstrike struck an apartment building, killing two women, a child, and another person, while several others were wounded. In Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, a woman was shot dead, while a separate strike in Khan Younis in the south killed one person and injured eight more. Later, an airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp killed three people, including a photographer. The Israeli military said it had targeted a militant in one of the locations but did not comment on the other incidents.
Ceasefire remains fragile amid ongoing violence
The violence underscores the fragility of the situation in Gaza. Although an October ceasefire halted large-scale fighting between Israel and Hamas, sporadic strikes have continued, with both sides accusing each other of violations as diplomatic efforts on a US-backed peace plan remain stalled.
