Rashid Al Ketbi Camels Festival sees strong competitions

Sharjah24: On Saturday morning, May 17, the Sharjah Camel Racing Club organized the Rashid Abdullah Al Muhayan Al Ketbi Festival for weaning camels at the Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track.

Event highlights

The event featured 20 races for weaning camels, including two symbol races for local entrants, two difficult symbol races, two open symbol races, 10 open cash races, and four difficult cash races, all covering a distance of 1,500 meters. Many owners and enthusiasts of camel racing attended.

 

Honoring the winners

The winning camels in the top three positions were honored with a saffron mixture, symbolising joy, pride, and honor. At the conclusion of the festival,  Abdullah Mohammed Muadhed Bin Hwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, along with Rashid Abdullah Al Muhayan Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Parents Council in the Central Region, and other board members, awarded the winners.

 

Impressive performances

 Abdullah Mohammed Muadhed Bin Hwaiden remarked on the impressive performances of many well-known racing teams, highlighting the strong competition for victory. He praised Rashid Al Muhayan Al Kutbi for his support in organising the festival.

Abdullah Rashid Al Muhayan Al Ketbi emphasised that the organisation of this festival reflects a commitment to camel racing and preserving the heritage of past generations while providing all necessary support for this traditional sport. He also expressed gratitude to the Sharjah Camel Racing Club for their excellent organisation and the success of the festival.
