Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and Vice President of the State of Palestine, in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed his best wishes for Al-Sheikh’s continued success.

Focus on Gaza humanitarian crisis

The two sides discussed ongoing regional developments, with a focus on the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the urgent need for intensified international efforts to deliver essential humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.

UAE's firm support for Palestine

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s historic and unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate aspirations for peace, stability, and development. He highlighted the country’s commitment to helping Palestinians live in dignity and security.

Call for sustainable humanitarian response

The UAE Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of establishing a sustainable humanitarian response that addresses the tragic living conditions in Gaza. He confirmed that the UAE would continue extending humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in need.

Advancing peace and stability

Sheikh Abdullah underlined the urgency of de-escalating regional violence and extremism. He called for renewed efforts to pursue a serious political process that revives peace negotiations, based on the two-state solution, to achieve lasting regional stability and security.
