RAK Ruler welcomes UK Defence College delegation

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received a high-level delegation from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of Defence Studies, led by Philip Parham, Director at the College and former UK Ambassador to the UAE.

Meeting held in Ras Al Khaimah

The meeting took place at His Highness’ palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City, in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Public Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah.

Focus on strategic and defence education

His Highness Sheikh Saud warmly welcomed the delegation and was briefed on the academic programmes offered by the College, with a focus on strategic and defence studies.

He praised the College’s significant role in preparing senior military leaders worldwide, and acknowledged its efforts in enhancing analytical and strategic thinking, as well as deepening global security understanding.

Emphasis on international partnerships

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah stressed the importance of international collaboration in strategic studies, commending institutions that support regional and global peace and stability.

Delegation commends UAE's progress

The UK delegation expressed gratitude for the hospitality and praised the UAE’s achievements in defence, security, and education. They recognised the UAE as a regional leader in promoting strategic knowledge and international cooperation.
