Sharjah24: The University of Sharjah recently hosted a graduation ceremony for a new cohort of professional diploma recipients, developed in collaboration with a number of government institutions and agencies. The event, organised by the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University, honored 190 graduates, including both employees of partner organisations and job seekers, who completed specialised training programs tailored to the evolving needs of the labor market.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a diverse suite of diplomas, including the Professional Diploma in Leadership Development for the Sharjah Public Works Department; the Professional Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety, and Business Continuity for the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority; the Professional Diploma in Research Preparation for the Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship; the Professional Diploma in Scientific Research Methodology for the Ministry of Defense; the Professional Diploma in Cybercrime Investigation for the Ministry of Interior; the Professional Diploma in Addiction Rehabilitation for the Community Development Authority; the Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management for the Dubai Police Transport Security Department; the Professional Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration for the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Center; and the Professional Diploma in Interior Design.
In his opening remarks, Professor Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, reaffirmed the University’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality educational and training programs that address the demands of both the job market and wider society. He expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, founder of the University, for his unwavering belief in the power of education and his vision that true investment begins with empowering individuals. Prof. Al Nuaimi also extended his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University, for his steadfast support of the University’s academic and research initiatives, which have elevated its standing locally, regionally, and globally.
Prof. Al Nuaimi congratulated the graduates, emphasising that their achievement represents another milestone in the University’s pursuit of excellence. He noted that the 190 participants completed their diplomas through specialized tracks delivered by distinguished faculty members and external experts, ensuring a rich, hands-on learning experience aligned with international best practices. Addressing the graduates, he said, “You now possess the tools for change and the keys to creativity. We will continue to follow your successes with pride, for your achievements are a testament to the enduring vision and mission of this institution.”
Dr. Asmaa Nassiri, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, highlighted that the center’s professional programs are designed to develop both technical and specialised skills, empowering participants to keep pace with the rapidly changing demands of the workforce. She added that the graduates completed rigorous programs in fields such as scientific research, cybercrime investigation, leadership, and crisis management, all carefully crafted to blend in-depth theoretical knowledge with robust practical application. Dr. Nassiri extended her gratitude to the University’s partners across the government sector for their crucial role in supporting and ensuring the success of these pioneering programs, reaffirming the center’s commitment to advancing community service and human capital development.
The ceremony also featured a performance of the UAE national anthem and a musical tribute by students from the Sharjah Academy of Performing Arts, as well as a short film showcasing the center’s wide-ranging activities. The event was attended by prominent officials from partner organisations, including Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority; Colonel Ibrahim Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Deputy Commander of the Land Forces Institute at the Ministry of Defense; Colonel Dr. Hamid Al Hammadi from the Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship; Brigadier Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, Director of Crime Scene Management at the Ministry of Interior; Maitha Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Empowerment Sector at the Community Development Authority; Major Yaqoub Saleh Madani, Head of Knowledge and Training Management at the Dubai Police Transport Security Department; Engineer Hind Nasser, Director of Strategic Planning and Quality at the Sharjah Public Works Department; and Dr. Hamda Ali, Director of Cases at the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Center.
