Sharjah 24: Marwan Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of the Legal Affairs Office at the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA), announced the successful completion of the electoral process for the boards of directors of various Fishermen's Cooperative Societies across the Emirate of Sharjah. The final stage concluded on Thursday with the election of new board members for the Dibba Al Hisn Fishermen's Cooperative Society.

High-level attendance at the elections
The voting process was attended by His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of the Authority; His Excellency Ahmed bin Yarouf, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council; Talib Safar, Director of the Municipality; and several other officials and representatives from government departments and institutions.

General assembly and key discussions
The General Assembly of the Dibba Al Hisn Fishermen’s Society convened at the Cultural Center, where attendees reviewed and discussed the society’s 2024 financial and administrative reports. They also voted on profit distribution and formally discharged the outgoing board members.

Praise for strong participation and efficient voting
Marwan Mohammed Al Hammadi emphasised that these elections were the final ones held across the emirate’s fishermen’s Societies. He praised the strong turnout and active participation by the General Assembly members and shareholders of the Dibba Al Hisn Society.

In a statement to "Sharjah 24," he noted that the elections were carried out using a streamlined electronic voting system that allowed for record-time execution. He added that the electoral process is essential for enhancing the services provided to the fishing sector and empowers fishermen to elect board members who can further develop the profession and meet their aspirations.
