Saqr Ghobash, Speaker for Lebanese Parliament discuss cooperation

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, at the parliament headquarters in Beirut as part of his official visit to Lebanon.

Emphasis on historical UAE-Lebanon relations

During the meeting, Ghobash conveyed greetings from the UAE leadership and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties with Lebanon. These relations span decades of cooperation in political, economic, and cultural sectors.

Enhancing bilateral and parliamentary cooperation

The two speakers discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of deepening parliamentary collaboration between the FNC and the Lebanese Parliament. They also highlighted the value of exchanging visits and expertise to foster mutual development and benefit both nations.

Shared regional concerns and strategic coordination

Both parties stressed the need to align positions on key regional issues, particularly Arab national security and Arab solidarity. They also discussed mechanisms for enhancing cooperation and coordination in light of the strong ties between the UAE and Lebanon.
